The soda industry aims to conserve the resources of its multi-billion dollar business. This is a response to the growing concern that faces the industry overall. That concern reveals the fact that consumer confidence in a certain industry is starting to lean towards how well a said company adapts to a given problem. In this case, that problem is controlling the amount of energy and resources wasted by the business.
Consumers are starting to value the fact that companies have the budgets to start-up campaigns focused on improving the welfare of the Earth that we all live on. That is why many soda-based businesses are focusing on their efforts at improving the total process, from start to finish.
What has the soda industry done to improve their efforts? Well, some companies have initiated recycling campaigns and machines that are capable of being convenient recycling centers for consumers. They can easily place their recycling aluminum cans into the machine and go, with very little effort.
In addition, some soda companies are working to reduce the carbon emissions of their processes. They are doing this many different ways, but one of them is by reducing the amount of plastic used in each manufactured bottle. By reducing the amount of plastic used, this also cuts down on the amount of plastic needed. Plastic is a petroleum-based product, so any less plastic used equals less carbon emissions required to make the product.
Other companies are working towards reducing the amount of carbon and energy used by their vending machines. Traditionally, vending machines depend on the use of a cooling agent to keep the sodas at a certain temperature. This used to be CFC based, or chlorofluorocarbonbased. Since the 1980s onward, we realized that CFCs attributed to the hole in the ozone layer, therefore laws were enacted required CFC-free cooling agents to be used for the standard method of cooling the soda.
But even with CFC-free vending machines, they still were not as efficient as they could be. Switching over to a carbon dioxide cooled system fixed most of these problems. A CO2 based system will output about 90% less carbon emissions than its traditional companions. It will also be able to conserve electricity and be more energy efficient as well.
Other soda makers are employing the use of hybrid trucks to distribute their beverages across the globe, as a means to reduce the total amount of gas resources used. This is particularly efficient because the newer hybrid trucks are much better at using gas. This saves the company money, and saves them on carbon emissions. A hybrid semi-truck will be able to go longer in-between fueling, and if the truck isn’t burning the same amount of fuel, then less overall carbon will go out the exhaust.
The efforts don’t stop there though. Many soda makers are concerned with the amount of water that they use. One cool example of an effort to conserve the water resources involves the use of excess potato water in the use of water on the premises. The excess water, harvested from the potatoes will be used to flush toilets or scrub the potatoes themselves, reducing the amount of water resources used overall.
Overall, the soda industry is working diligently to improve their processes, and conserve energy. In the future, this should help to improve the branding that some consumers associate with the industry. plastic pelletizing machine
